Changed my bars today for the second time. Had Wide Glide bars for several months and changed to Khrome Werks #300504. I have to say that I've finally found bars I can live with. The wide glide bars couldn't be pulled back very far without dropping too low. I also didn't like the wrist angle. The KW bars have a flatter wrist angle and can be pulled back much farther.
I also installed the new HD one piece top clamp which eliminates the problem of the bars coming loose. The stock clamps suck.
Also installed Poly bar bushings.

Looks good Steve. Did you change the brake line? Looks braided to me in those pics. I like the looks of the wrist angle on those much better than the wide glide bars. I've been thinking about a set of Heritage bars myself.
I changed the cables and brake line just because I found them for cheap used on Ebay. They are stock length so I only changed them for looks.
You should sit on my bike and try these. They are much more comfortable than the stock bars. They can be pulled back and are still high enough. Like you said, the wrist angle is much better.
The WG bars ended up too low when I pulled them back. The buckhorn shape of the WG bars made the wrist angle uncomfortable for me on the long hauls.

I see that you use the rider back rest. How do those bars feel when you're not using the back rest?
The backrest helps me sit up straighter and closer to the bars. If I rode very much without the backrest, I would pull the bars back another inch or so. I can pull them back without loosing too much height.
I rarely ride without the backrest. I love that thing.
I have the GA tourpak kit so the wife had plenty of room.

So cal pappy had Wild 1 mini apes on his RG. When I got my RG last year, I hated the stock bars. Over the winter I switched over to the mini-apes and never looked back. I recomend them to anyone.
