Default Seat advice -rearend assitance

I have a 2008 Electra Glide Classic that is in need of some softening up. I am 6'2" tall and 285 lbs. I need some recommendations on the seating issue of this bike.

The stock seat wasn't too bad but the lack of leg room and my inner thighs rubbing on the tank were a problem. I then purchased a tallboy seat to get relocated farther from the controls without rubbing the tank. I already moved the footrests out and up a little before the seat purchase.

Now my problem is I would like to have a seat that has much more cushion AND can except a backrest. My wife would also like a little extra support. I see nothing available out there on the market and customizers say they can puff up the seat but can't do anthing about a backrest. Some change in '08s prevent it I guess.

We can only take about 1 1/2 hrs of punishment before needing a break. I've been riding for 30 years but this is my first Harley and comfort isn't the main concern for them evidently. Yes I had Gold Wings a few times in the past and should have known better but...at least my rear was well taken care of.

Please let me know of your ideas.

I've put 25000 miles on my Mustang Regal Touring seat and love it. It will accept a Harley backrest.

I have had good results with the HD Road Zeppelin. It has the adjustable air bladders and is wider than the stock seat. It takes the backrest also. BTW, I am 6'3 and 225. It gives me more leg room and overall support.

+1 on the Mustang touring seat.
I have model #75449.
I'm 6'1" and 235lbs. I needed the extra height the Mustang provides. It places you about 1.5" - 2" higher than the stock seat, giving a lot of extra leg room. When you first sit on it, it feels like you're sitting on a rock, but within ten minutes your butt will love you.
We generally ride 2up, and averaging 600 - 700 miles on our overnight weekend rides. No sore butts, just a lot of smiles to the mile. I'm happy, momma's happy and you know what they say.... "Ain't NOBODY happy if Momma ain't happy."

Give Mean City Cycle a call and they may be able to help you 1-866-550-7328. They rebuild/contour seats.

I like Mustang or a custom made Corbin.

Had problems like you with all seats. Bought the Airhawk seat pad, and it solved all problems.
