If you think Stage 1 is all you will want to do, I personally would just get the ECM flash. If you think your plans might get more ambitious later go with the Power Commander. My tech told me it's cheaper and easier/faster to tune with a PC than the SERT.
Had the SERT, hated the SERT, got rid of the SERT. I don't want to have to pay the dealer every time I want to make a change. I went PCIII and my bike has never run better. The techs will tell you the SERT is a better tuning tool but I just don't see it. I like being able to modify any changes without involving the dealer or some computer geek. I wish I had saved my money and just gone PCIII from the start. The savings would have almost covered the cost of my V&H Dresser Duals.
A PCIII will be cheaper initially if you use a canned map and it works well for you. Otherwise you will need a dyno tune to get it dialed in. In that case you may as well get the super tuner. The PCIII is an add on that eliminated the )2 sensors. A super tuner allows a mechanic to tune your ECM for optimal performance. The download is still too lean IMO.
I had a PCII and went to a SERT/dyno tune on my 07 RG. Bike runs perfectly now.
Keep in mind that a dyno tune is only as good as the person tuning it.
Just my 2 cents.

That all depends on what your plans are. For me, i wanted to have my bike tuned and ride it. No hang on devices, No close maps or junk downloads. Dyno tuned with Sert. If you like to play around with the tuning the PcIII is somewhat easier than the sert.

I all comes down to how much you're willing to spend.
