The key word in the warning is "may". Mine was installed by my dealer, and they did the dyno tune as well. I was told that since they did the work, there was no affect on the warranty.

Smart thing to do is add all at purchase, if financed in, A. The dealer sold it to ya and B. Eaglemark financed the add ons, judge would prolly rule for the average Joe in this scenario

Personally, I'd rather take the risk than ride around on a sewing machine, just my opinion.

Wondering this as well. I installed the SE A/C, touring exhaust (both of which are on-road approved), but also installed the SERT with a Stage 1. Had my HD stealer to the dyno tune. They did not say anything. Wondering where the warranty issue will stand with me should I need future work done?

My dealer warrants anything they do to the bike before it leaves for 2 years. That includes all the Stage I.

LOL
I guess non HD cams and head work would screw the deal too.
Question is, make the bike run right or limp around for two years,
so as not to void the warranty?

My dealer said if they install it, it will be covered under warranty. In my case it was a 95" kit, 203 cams, sert, and SE pro slip-ons.

Interesting note about my local dealer, they are quietly having a 15% off sale on ALL SE parts... hummm...

2006 Ultra

My dealer said that the following would void my warrenty: race tuner, big shot duals, power comander, dyna tuning but "don't worry we'll cover you if we do the work". That's not something I would bet on.

I had the V & C Oval Slip ons and stage one at the dealer. I hated the sound the bike made on decel and at low speeds. A lot of coughing and popping. I talked to the dealer and they fooled around with the bike and it came out no better.

I brought it to a local custom shop and had the big sucker air filterand stealth DFO put in. The bike sounds great and runs better. I also had them do the 1000 mile and add an oil cooler. $850 total.

I canceled my Harley extended warrenty. The shop also had great leather at a fraction of the prices in a Harly show room.

Don't know if I did the right thing. I've only owned Jap bikes for the 40 years I've been riding. This is my first Harley.

I had my parts picked up by my wife and she said the dealer told me to call them before I started the install. After a long conversation I was told to install the slip ons and air cleaner along with the canned map with my CERT and then bring it in. I think the service guy was trying to feel me out to see wether I could be trusted to work on my bike. He said to bring it in to have a dyno tune done (actually so they could check my work I think) and my warrenty would not be affected. I can see their point here. This dealer is trying to stay true to the customer and let me make a Harley out of my bike but on the other hand I'm sure there are guys who would plug in a CERT and just start tuneing. I can't imagine the damage caused by people getting creative with the CERT program. Anyway, $70.00 for a fine tuning job doesn't sound too bad and I've learned to deal with the "service" guys and not the "parts" guys.

Well, just like anything you change on your HD from stock would void the warranty for that particular component. I personally spoke with the HD Warranty department in Milwaukee, and she said that any component you changed from stock, regardless of SE or aftermarket brand, will void the warranty for "that" particular system or part of your bike.

So, whether the part you're replacing is Screaming Eagle or not, HD will void only that portion of the warranty.
