i've got a newly formed leak on the primary of my '05 eglide. it leaked a little the other day and now is leaking like my old '89 fxr. any history of the primary seals going out on these or should i suspect the outer gasket, as it's been there for about 37k miles and been on and off about 5 or 6 times.

I had my shifter seal replace at 17000 miles. I was told that is not uncommon. If the oil is below your primary drain plug and on your kickstand, that could be it.

i change the primary oil to amsoil 20/50 and changed the gasket at every 5000miles

no leaks -ride safe

 

the leak appears to be behind the drain plug, but i can't tell if it's coming from behind the primary or just leaking that way when the bike is upright.
