Default Steering head lub

I bought some multi purpose grease with teflon made by Quicksliver for Marine applications that includes steering systems sold by fleetfarm. Does anyone have an opinion on wheather or not this grease will be good enough for my bike. Just so tired of running to the dealer for simple things to maintance the bike.

I couldn't find the temp drop point for this grease. If it's not rated/intended for high temp applications (at least 470 degrees F), you may find the stuff dripping out as the outside air and engine temps start to warm.

I finally found one that won't drip and is more than good enough for my ride. Motorex 2000 synthetic.

Whatever you do, don't use the HD "special" grease for steering necks.

I made that mistake to use the recommended grease from HD, and it dripped like crazy. I ended up blowing it out as much as I could with an air gun and cleaning it up as much as I could. It would drip down into the "tray" that is the bottom triple tree, then run down the back of the left fork upper cover.

I'll never grease my steering neck again.

High temp lube is a good idea my RC has been dripping crap out of the LS since new. I can't believe Harley uses cheap *** lube that ends all over the side of your bike from the factory.

I used the HD Special Purpose Grease (99857-97), filled the neck per the manual and have had no issues with dripping. Not saying anyone else's experience wasn't different, I'm just sayin'.
