I still wish I had hung onto my 93 FXR for that matter.

If I could afford it I would trade up to 09, even though my 08 is new. The 09 street glide is the polished diamond. that thing is fu--ing beuatiful. They got smart with the 2-up hardware, the fender grab rail, re-inforced frame. Can you imagine how good that thing handles? Its better than a 08 and my 08 handles dam good. They dropped the tall first gear too. Usually its the first year of a new design that people stay away from until they get the glitches out. Well, it seems the 08's went backwards from the 07 street glides, than they got it right in 09. Just sayin..

Dswansbiker, you're right, you almost screwed up, but it's a hell of a good lesson for all of us. Thanks for posting. I love my 2000 FLHTCI.

I am keeping my 06 as long as I can. I have it set up with almost everything I could want.

I do wish I had a 6 speed. Someday ABS may be nice to have. Maybe in a year or two I might get the 95 inch kit, but for now it runs great and looks great.

When you right click and select properties on the above link , you'll notice that your missing info /l.... the dots need to be info. I'm guessing you didn't copy the right link from photobucket.

your other link works fine

the above link has all the proper info. I had to remove the http so the full address could be seen, go into your "User CP and select Sig. scroll down and add the above info with the "http" and you'll get

Also this new board only allows 4 lines of info per sig

Vance & Hines monster ovals. Deep, rumbly, but fairly quiet. None of the crack that the regular ovals have. Between the Standard Ovals and the current Screamin Eagles in Volume.

Very expensive though.

Tell me about it. I get a lot of jokes about "have you looked into LEASING these things"?

Seriously though, This one is gonna be IT for the foreseeable future. The only reason Ive had 4 of them, is because:

a. Ive managed to get a decent price when selling. (not so much on the 05, that one was a trade-in)

b. I consider money spent to be spent. In other words, I dont expect to get a return on accessories etc, you just have to kiss that money goodbye.

c. I have had a secondary income for the last 10 years, which allows me to do this kinda stupid sh*t without dipping into my "living budget" Otherwise, no way in hell would I have done this.

d. I guess Ive always had the opinion, that if I have to be making a $300-400 payment every month, I had better be VERY happy with it. Im pretty obsessive about that. If I had kept my 03, and it was paid for, I would be a lot more willing to overlook the current improvements in the new models and be happy with the 03. But if I gotta write that check every month anyway, Im gonna be happy every second I spend on that bike.

e. I live in a modest house and don't have any other toys (boats, RVs, etc) Just a car payment ( a $15,000 preowned 07 Ford Fusion) and a Harley payment. This is my one "splurge" in life.

f. Im a sucker for new and improved sh*t. It used to be computers. Now its Harleys. (should have stayed with the computers, WAY cheaper)

Honestly though, Im gonna miss my 07. Elinor was my first NEW Harley, and my first new motorcycle since my very first one back when I was 17. Im gonna go down to the dealer tomorrow when the new owner flies in to pick her up, and its gonna be hard letting her go. So believe me when I say I DO know just how you feel about your bike, and the fact that you get to keep her.

Hopefully, 8 years down the road, I will feel the same way about "Ruby"

I rode my 02 Ultra for five years and 59000 miles and thought it would be the last bike I would ever own, being retired and all. But the 07 kept calling to me on the dealer's sales floor, yet I denied that I wanted to trade up. This went on for a full month. Then one day I thought of a neat way to resolve several financial goals, and there would be room to buy a new one for cash. That tipped me over.

It was the very last Ultra they would have for 07 and the dealer really wanted to sell it. They had added chrome forks, chrome handlebar group, and LED spoilers to the saddlebag lids and tour pak. I bought with the extras for $2500 under MSRP. Now, this is the last bike I will ever own, being retired and all. I must be slowing down, only have put 19300 miles on the first year. No issues.
