Induction module was faulty
I had the symptoms as a stuck high idle, just like the fly by wire problem. Tech called HD engineer and confirmed the induction module was bad. Bike has 10,000 miles on it. The tech said they have not seen that on a 08 yet in his dealership and had no idea why it went bad. After the problem was finaly diagnosed my service writer used the HD "bike down policy" and the part was sent over night. I got my bike back today fresh off their wash rack. Its running good, and the throttle responds a little differently now.
I knew I was impatient by calling the service writer every night and asking about my bike. I learned that I worry more about my Harley than my...... oh I cant say it. I took two 18 packs of coors light to the dealer. Gave one to my service writer for being patient with me and staying on ntop of my bike. Gave the other 18 pack to the two techs that worked together to figure out what was wrong with my bike, and took the time to confirm their findings with an engineer at HD so I didnt break down again somewhere.
