something dont sound right ???
I would ask to speak to the service manager because it sounds like there is a "lack of training" with the warranty clerk.
I talked to the warranty clerk at the dealer today and he said HD claimed there were too manny claims against the bike.
Ask them to show you in the warranty contract where there is a limitation on the number of claims.
That is total BS - each part is either warrantied or it isn't. Are they saying that nothing is warrantied now that you have a couple of claims? What if the engine blows up? Sheesh!
Granted I was kinda pissed,I am in the car bussiness[parts] and I had never heard of such. The mgr will be in on Monday and you can bet I will on the phone asap.I even sent in pics of the belt and then the mgr thought it would be covered.I can work the bike but that is alittle more than I want to fool with..Thanks guys for all your input.
yeah. often wondered if the belt is a DIY item??????????i service my bike -have a jack-chnage the tires brakes ect. how hard is this job on a scale of 1-10???
The clerk was probably talking about too many claims in general, not with just you.
Most dealers including cars do not warranty items that can have various different wear rates and also items that they cannot control whether they are abused or not. I know a buddy with a Deuce, and he has the engine done to 110CI, and he's shredded about 10 belts so far just from gettin on the throttle.
If you could prove that the belt broke from a manufacturing defect, that would be a different story.
