...all the best looking bikes never "really" get rode. I'm sitting here thinking, WOW, these are the best looking blacked out bikes I've ever seen. Then it hits me. No one is using them. No one is riding these bikes to work every day, certainly not in the rain or snow. I doubt they've spent more than a day out of the garage. What a waste.
Can't take it with you people. Ride them, feel the wind. Live. Or die.
lets see my bike is 10 months old and has 13500 miles on it and it has been torn down for the last 2 months getting powder coat and other things done for the winter. Most people dont put 10000 miles on one in five years. That is the reason I am blacking out my bike I dont like to clean chrome like the saying goes chrome wont get you home. Normally when I see a blacked out bike that tells me the person rides instead of shines. I have ridden less in 09 due to work than I ever have.
This one gets ridden to work everyday. Don't like to clean when I could be ridin'...
What color of powder coat did you use I did mine in gloss with a clear and it turned out worst than chrome so I pulled everything back off and I am having it redone with what they called 20% black. It is about the same shade as the dark custom derby cover with the 1 on it. By the way great looking bike I bet you hate to ride it and get it diry LOL
Thanks Missile, you are correct, I am deathly afraid of getting her dirty. She only sat outside through the worst hail storm I have ever seen in Sturgis. I went through a whole box of tissue worrying. Bwahahahaha. NOT!!! I bought it to ride, and thats what I do, black or chrome, makes no difference to me. That powder is Ultra Matte Black. It came out very nice. Matches the motor covers very closely, just without the texture.

You don't know what you are talking about. I ride mine to work almost every day rain or shine. the only time my bike wasn't, was when It was tore down to do some improvments.
