[QUOTE=SpaceReapersNOLA;13701696]So do you like the smaller air cleaner? My buddy has one and likes it but I haven't seen one compared to the larger RSD air cleaners. Is it really noticeably smaller? also when you say the "covers" leaked , did all of them leak? did they all crack? Thanks for the info!

I didn't want a bulky big air cleaner. I was going for more of slimmer look. As I say that and laugh cuz I have a mini beast air horn on the other side. lol

The covers never leaked. They just had small little cracks where the screws are. I never tighten them I just made sure they were tight form the package.

Got my parts back from the powder coater. Engine guard, saddlebag guards, rear signal bar, strut covers, 4-point docking hardware, headlight ring, fairing skirt, front signals. Then got a black luggage rack.

I thought it would make a pretty big difference, and I wasn't sure if I wanted to touch the engine (regarding gloss black). Now that I see everything, I think I for sure want to do the fork lowers and uppers, floorboards, levers, etc. Eventually I will probably do the primary, derby, cam, timing, etc. Just not sure yet.

How bad was the rear turn bar to disassemble? That's in my list of things to black out next

it wasnt too bad. there are two bolts up between the fender and tire that are bit of a pain to get to. you can get your arm up there without removing the tail assembly (where the turn signals wire into), but its definitely a bit challenging.

after having to do it a few times, i would recommend just taking a little extra time to remove the bags, the the 3 nuts for the rear tale assembly/fender (bottom piece).. and removing that altogether. gives you much more room to get up to the turn signal bar, and a better understanding of how everything is laid out back there.

edit: also, if youre mostly under the bike, watch for dirt/dust in your eyes when youre under there trying to see stuff.

Did you remove the wires and reflectors from the assembly before powder?

Yes. When items are powdered they have to be baked.

I thought the fairing skirt is a plastic mold. Your powder coater was able to back that?

On the pre Rushmore bikes it's metal.
