Have any of you guys replaced your stock tires with new one even though the stock tires were still new say like less than 4000 miles. Just to get better perfomance not because they were worn.

No. Some tires will provide better performance than others, but not enough to warrant throwing away perfectly good tires for them. Unless I needed activity-specific tires like, for instance, drag racing or off-road use, I'd stick with the tires I had until it became necessary to replace them.
Yup.............just ashcanned the dunlops and put on Avon Venom's......my life is worth more than the $300 bones it cost.......The avon's dont even compare....much better ride and and the handling is outstanding...
I have 9,000 miles on my dunlops this year, and I fail to understand why everyone thinks they are so bad in corners.
I have yet to feel insecure in a corner, and I drag the boards often.

Well I replace my worn Dunlop oem back tire with a Metzler 880, and was going to yank the front one at the same time to keep the tires matched. But, there was very little wear on the front Dunlop, so I decided to keep it through this back tire and replace both next time I need a rear. Bike rides much better on one Metzler and one Dunlop than it did on two Dunlops, so I am looking forward to how it does on two Metzlers...
People take off perfectly fine stock equipment ALL the time and replace them. Mirrors, pipes, grips, pegs/floorboards. Or they jump right into engine work... "just because they want to" why NOT tires? I bought my RG used, there was a new Dunlop rear and the orginal front, I got a price on Metzlers, and swaped out the tires. In MY opinion they improved the handle on the bike, I've sinced tried the Dunlop Elite 3, and believe I've again improved the feel of the bike.... it's all just opinion, anyway
I have about 8300 miles and I'm planning a trip in less than a month that will rack up an additional 5200 miles. I NEED to replace my tires and I'm not sure of the size. Does anyone know the size off hand for an 08 FLHX?
I CAN look in my manual, but it's outside and I'd like to check for tires. I keep forgetting to get the exact size. Also, can I squeeze a bigger size on it (anyone know about that?)
