Default Spark plugs

I am doing the 10,000 mile service, and will change the spark plugs.I currently run the stock 6R-12, I also run the V&H ovals, sert and the larger air filter.Question, any reason I should not run the same plug? and if not, what would be a better plug for my set-up? and proper gap? Engine is stock otherwise. Thank you.

gap is .038 to .043 and 6R12 is fine for your set up.

I've read on here that the plug does not make much difference.

I went from stock to the SE Tripple Platinums and noticed no difference. I am now running Golds and will stick with them.

The stock plugs are fine and work really well with most builds.
Shoot , they're not even expensive compared to other plugs.
If you do change to another plug number , you will be introducing an "unknown variable" to your present tune , which can complicate tuning even further.
An example would be that you get a plug that fires better (more completely) than stock.
The computer "sees" (through the oxygen sensors) that the fuel mix is lean.
The computer then tries to add fuel to make up the difference.
The tune is now "off a little".
Or you get a plug that runs colder.
The computer "sees" that the burn wasn't complete (rich).
The computer tries to deliver less fuel to compensate.
The tune is now "off a little".
This would be a really simplified version of what happens , but you get the idea.
I run into this daily with auto repair , and it really makes a difference on cars and trucks.
Stock plugs are good...

Autolights are the way to go and always buy the cheapest ones they work just as good as any gimmick spark plug. Been using them for 30 years in everything I own, never had a failure.
