Once again, I'll state my belief, that you should have a Harley VIN number or HOG number etc., to be allowed on this site! Proof of ownership in some way, would cut out the squirrels!
To add, where's the integrity with this forum? if you have everyone on the planet chimming in for strange reasons, etc...They don't qualify to comment!

I mostly just read the forum, to learn. I bought my first Harley this year, a 2008 Road King and I gotta say its the nicest bike I've ever ridden...geez what a pleasure to ride. This Golden Boy dude is weird...why waste the time to write crap like that? I guess just to get a reaction. I'd rather be riding....I guess for him, he'd rather be bitching, maybe his ride isn't as much fun?

I understand your attitude on this but I for one, am very glad they don't have that kind of restriction to the forum. I'm not a Harley owner at this time. I've never owned a Harley but am seriously considering one for the first time in 35 years of riding. I've learned a LOT from this forum and it's helped me, more than I can say, to "see the light" as it were!

For the record, as a former Goldwing rider, I'd like to appologize for a-holes like "what's-is-face." He is "not" the norm for Wing riders by my experience.

FWIW!

Ride Safe,
Steve R.

If these reviewers were able to quantify a motorcycle's "soul" and the emotional connection between the bike and it's rider, I suspect the outcome would be totally different.

I work for a dealer in service and my job is see motorcycles with issues. So the 08's had fuel filter shell issues, but the MOCO stepped up to the plate and now has a recall. Before that, I submitted warranty for the issue. The quality of the product is much improved over my 1972 FLH that I owed or my 1969 Sporty. My 02 RK and my 05 and 08 V-Rods ran flawlessly. So ride it like you own it and when you have a problem get the dealer to fix it for you. Don't listen to the namesayers, when you buy a Harley you are getting a quality product.
All manufacturers have problems and recalls from time to time, even Honda's Goldwing. My 93 Wing fell under a recall for a little black box called a "bank angle sensor." It's purpose was to kill the engine if the bike was dropped. The failed units that prompted the recall would shut the bike down if the rider hit a bump in the road. That's "real" inconvenient if you're in heavy traffic at freeway speeds when that happens. Fortunately, I never experienced the problem but the unit they took off my bike was "very" close to failure mode when they performed the recall. I was lucky on that one. And let us not forget the series of "frame failures" on the early GL1800's!! It took them a while to learn how to weld aluminum. I would have thought that a company with Honda's reputation for quality would have figured out that little detail "before" they started delivering the bikes! I never want to know the feeling of having my bike break in two right under my **** while riding down the road at speed!!

Nuff said!

Who cares what the magazine or you think poser. My 08 Ultra is a quality machine and I'm very satisfied with it. Go buy your Honda and stay off HDF, we don't need or want you.

Now, now. I think you're jealous. I think you'd rather have a Harley but just won't admit it.
