+1, They do not seem to be made to be used multiple times.

 

I wondered this myself because I want to put Rineharts on the Ultra and really thought it LOOKED easy.
I'm glad others have some of the same questions I do.

 

How are you liking your standard?Mine is an 08 Crimson Red also.Have you done any mods to yours?I have added some chrome and slipons and a Street Glide windshield.

 

1 thing I've found also is to loosen the clamps, start the bike and run it just long enough to get the pipes somewhat warm, but make sure they are cool enough to grab them with a set of quality leather gloves and they'll slip right off.

 

No one mentioned it, but it would be a good idea to use some anti-sieze compound (e.g., Permatex) where the muffler slips onto the pipe. It will make it easier to remove later on and will help seal from leakage. Use new clamps, which BTW were $18/pair the last time I bought them, not $10.
