Default What bike??

Hello everyone, this may not be the right place to start this thread, so sorry! My father-in-law wants to buy a motorcycle ( he does want a harley). He hasn't ridden one in several several years as far as taking long trips or just riding. He has ridden my 07 ultra classic in a parking lot just to get the feel of it( and yes my heart was pounding hard). I am wondering what do you guys think he should get. His wife will ride with him a few times but it won't be much. Some input on this subject would be greatly apperciated.

Thanks for all the input!

Scotty

I agree, his wife will appreciate the shocks in the touring class. All depends on how much long riding they plan to do. Get the Ultra if they think they might like a lot of long trips. Otherwise a Road King or Street Glide are nice.

The same thing you have! Might as well be comfortable.

Let's face it, as you approach the wisdom years of the age spectrum, you tend to have a greater appreciation for functionality and comfort verses flashiness and speed, therefore, he probably would not be satisfied with anything less than an Ultra.

If he has not ridden in a long time, I suggest a Safety Course to shake off the cobwebs and learn the new techniques.

Any bagger will do. It's what spins his prop.

A good option is to take him to demo days and ride the touring bikes. Have him pick a one or 2 he thinks he would really like and then go rent them for a weekend trip.
