98 FLHTCI irratic fuel/fire
I have a 98 FLTCUI w/PCIII,EV27,Kerker slip-ons, bath tubs w/pop-ups done lastyr @35,000 now at 46,000 she started cutting out between Rapid n Spearfish,had to stop 4 times (after she would cool off she'd run another 15 miles or so and do it again)note: I noticed the gas gauge jumping around.
Took her in they say TPS, I ride 1 mile home and I can tell she ain't right. I have her idleing and she jumps to 4000 (I DID NOT touch her). Shop picks her up says it's the Idle Postion Motor. I installed this, set her up, she fires right up 1500-1700 and dropped down just the way she should. Once she's got up to OT she jumps up to 3000. tap the IOC motor she dropped back down.
Took her for a ride. She's back firing when you back off throttle. Hop on the free way she hesitates when you roll in it after shifting in every gear. (note: gas gauge jumps up from 1/2 to 3/4 when you back off throttle???) I know the gas gauge back light hasn't worked for a while now.
I found a recall HD had on ignition switch/relay. don't know if this has every been done I got her in 7/05 w/20000 on her. Anybody experience this issue? I don't want to hear get another fuelly system so please don't tell me that. It is a electronic fuel issue and any in put to remedy this marelli system is greatly appreciated.
