Default speed wobble?

Hey all, only had my 08 Street Glide for a short while, and never ride that aggressively, but recently I hit high speeds while on the expressway, once at and over aroud 90-100mph, I experiance a front end shake, not a tank slapper by any means but def not a comfortable feeling for sure, is there anyway to cure this? Or should I just tone it down a lil bit?

Thanks for your insight in advance!

RJ

I experience the same on my FB when going 70-80 MPH. Not sure but would say its normal...better to slow down.

I have an 06 street Glide. I found that if you put a little more pressure in your rear shocks it will diminish looseness issues. I can tell a difference in the tightness of the bike at 20lbs of pressure as opposed to 12. Check how much air pressure is in the shocks if you want to ride aggressively.

True Track or any other brand stabilizer will usually cure this problem.

How many miles on it now? Have you had it in for it's 1K or 5K check yet? It's not too uncommon for a bikes fork tightening to loosen up...after all...it's mechanical and needs fasteners to hold it together! At times that's what causes our rear end wobble...which is why I say check all mechanical and fasteners before spending a few hundred bucks and adding a stabilizer. So take the bike in if still under warranty and let then know. BUT...before ya do...remember this...At 90-100 your fairing and everything up front can add lift to your bike...if your tire looses traction...you'll have wobble. I still say have it checked...but I know mine doesn't have wobble at 110! Good luck brother and safe riding! Mike

I've not had this problem on my 08 SG. You may want to make sure your front wheel is balanced properly.

Had this before too. Tru-track or any other stabo will not fix the front end. Is the rear of your bike lowered and not the front. Have bags on the back which are filled to alter the weight ratio. First check the inflation of both tires and wheel balance. Alignment is also a cause. If this is an oscillation issue, then there is a weight balance issue. When this occurs, move forward on the bike, leaning onto the tank it should take care of the problem for that moment. However, it will happen again.

Also check the steering neck adjustment, if too loose this is a possible cause.

Thanks for the suggestions, I have approx 3500 miles on my 08, and I have never felt this before, although I have never been up to these speeds either, so.... also I thought the stabalizers were more for the rear than the fronts? Just seems a little wierd to me thats all, but I will look into the suggestions that you all had and report back..

Thanks again!
