Exhaust blemish

I know I remember a discussion about this, but can't seem to find it. The pipe that crosses under my right leg to the left side has a blemish that looks to me like a pipe that has gotten too hot, and blemished. Nothing has melted on it. The question is will steel wool get this out? I remember someone saying 000 wool and some 0000. Looking in the store, the type reccomended for alum, copper ,chrome is 00 very fine.

Any thoughts or anyone dealt with this? It's an 08 Ultra.

I would try to use blue off or chrome cleaner first.

Steel wool and chrome, probably not the best idea.

Don't use steel wool or anything abrasive.. Get some Blue Job chrome cleaner and it'll take off the discoloration. Here's how it worked on mine:
