I put the 12.5" Progressive 440 shocks on my bike and I've been happy with them. It's harder for me to judge them against my stock shocks because I increased my length by 1/2".They are firmer and I don't have to worry about checking my air pressure anymore.
One of the first things I did was put on Progressive 440 and the true track system on my 06 SG. Made a tremendous difference. I bought the 12 inch heavy duty shocks. As one other tread noted get the right one based on your size or 2 up riding.
i understand now. i thought you were wanting opinions on the 416s. i didn't get that you were talking about the whole range of progressive shocks. my bad.
i can't tell you anything except for the 440s on my bike. they started off great, better than stock, but over the past year, leaked the oil out and are now very harsh, to the point that i had to take them off and put the stockers back on. i may be screwed too, cause the lifetime warranty requires proof of purchase, i bought these over 5 years ago, don't have the receipt any more and don't have a clue where i got them from (online).... so i'm gonna be looking into shocks here soon too.....
I do not know for sure what their policy is but you should ask if they will rebuild your shocks for you @ a cost. The 440's are somewhat rebuildable so ask if they will service their product. I am sure any company should/will service their own product.
