it would likely make more sense for them to send out 3 demo shields and have you return all 3 of them when you were done. this is the kind of service brick-and-mortar shops should be providing. if i could roll into a dealer and test 3 shields before leaving with a new one - i'd gladly pay the 20% overhead to keep the lights on.

I have my windshield cut just below eye level and the wind baffle between the forks. I wear a half helmet and haven't had any wind buffeting since. I only put the fork deflectors on in the winter to help with wind in my face and legs.

Try National Cycle Windshields. Stops all of that. The V-Stream Windshield for your specific bike. Mine works great.

I tried that wind deflector that goes between the forks but it didn't help at all. My windshield height is about at the bridge of my nose and I can see over it but would like it about an inch shorter. I notice if I put my hand up above the windshield that the buffeting stops, so I'm not sure I want to cut the windshield down anymore. Anyone have a solution?

Do some exercises that will strenghten your neck muscles?

I put the deflectors on mine and it made a 100% improvement.

Yes that would make a hell of a lot more sense. I too would pay the premium. I don't really care what it would cost if it worked for ME. I currently have a few different size shileds for my old 2003 roadglide sitting in my shop on a shelf. Why?, because it took buying a few to get it right. How cost effective was that?
Thanks for your 2 cents.

I've posted to a thread very similar to this one (or maybe it was the same one but I missed my own comments). I bought an '02 RK which had a 17-inch windshield. THe buffeting was awful. I put the fork deflector on and it helped... a little. I tried a borrowed stock height 20-incher and it helped... a little. I stuck a 22-incher from Cee Bailey on and problem solved... completely. Yes, I do look through it, though I can stretch up and look over the top if I want to. No more complaints about the buffeting from the backseat passenger. Makes for right comfy long trips and definitely nice behind it in cold weather. Now if I could just keep the bugs off it, but better than between my teeth.

Road Master Ronn39, can I ask please, what is your height? I am 6' and searching for the shield that doesn't create air turbulance that beats down on the top of my head like a jack hammer. Thanks

I'm six-foot tall. I have a Sundowner seat, but I don't think it lowers me any more than the stock seat did. And I wear a half helmet without goggles or any of that. Riding down a long downhill road, just for kicks I dropped it into neutral, but rather than speeding up as I expected, it actually slowed down -- those RK windshields push a lot of air.
