Fuel Injected or Carb'ed
Did that question make me sound like too much of a noobie or what? I've only ridden one FI bike, and that's my dad's ultra, it was nice to just jump on and go without messing with a choke and all that, but my old Bad Boy was obviously carbed, and I never had any issues with that. So what are the real pros and cons of the two????
Where & what kind of riding will you do the majority of the time?
Fuelies are really getting pretty good performance these day - espicially with the newer closed loop systems like Daytona Twin-Tec & the S&S.
Even the cheaper versions like S/E Race Tuners & Power Commanders allow for some very serious tuning of hotrod fuelies.
That said, I do miss the "instant on" rush from my old carb'd RG.
I would do mostly city riding, which is shitty, but there are most definitely going to be some weekend road trips of lengthy mileage.
I guess fuelie would be much nicer for a quick trip to the store and scenario's like that, just jump on and go, but on the otherhand, do you have to take it in and get it tuned every time you add some performance item to it? That is the major thing that is holding me back.

I have one of each.
The EFI system is supposed to auto compensate for changes in altitude. Not a big deal unless you are running out West or anywhere thru the mountains / high plains on a long road trip.
My carbed 03 runs a little on the rich side at high altitudes. My garage is at 137 feet MSL. Once running at 80 in the Bighorn Mtns I started to get a little fuel out the AC as I kept adding throttle to maintain speed.
I met a guy with an older bike who was constantly fiddling with his carb each day. But he may have been a bit **** about it.
The Best of Harley-Davidson for Lifelong Riders
Well, there are two models, the FLHX and the FLHXI, the difference is about 300 bucks.

No more than you would have to re-jet a carbed one. Paper or Plastic, Blondes or Brunettes? Different strokes for different folks. I would suggest riding both and see what YOU prefer, in the end that's all that matters
