Having a beer with Kid Rock at his home in Detroit...
I worked as a good humor man one summer of my college years. While I was stopped selling the kids ice cream, James Brown's tour bus pulled up behind. James got off and asked me directions to the location of his show that night.
Oldest daughter took auto mechanics in high school. She routinely beat her lab partner in test scores. Lab partner..... Tony Stewart. When I was in High School, Girls would hang out at the local skating rink. Going through town was this guy trying to play his guitar and sing as he made up the words. Kept singing, I was born in a small town............ Yep, Johny Cougar himself.

1) I met James Brown in the airport in Las Vegas about 7 years ago. He was walking with his body guard and I walked up to him and shook his hand (body guard got a little nervous) chatted for a minute or so, then I walked away. A half hour later, I was sitting in a bar having a beer and burger, waiting for my plane. He walked in and sat at the table next to me, chatted again for a half hour or so.
2) Saw Lionel Richie at Logan airport a few years ago, didn't talk.
3) Back in the early '70's I worked at a Flagg Bros. shoe store on Washington St. in downtown Boston. (Anyone remember Flagg Bros?? They made those funky men's 3" platform shoes) The band "YES" was doing a concert at the old Boston Garden, they all came in at bought shoes from me...lol.
