You are right, it was expensive and worth every penny. I dd not have to buy several seats and try them out and he did it just the way I wanted it... right the first time.
I have a Dual Tour on my FXDI. I also thought it was too hard when I got it.
You can send it back to Corbin and they will adjust it free one time. I sent mine back and had them shave about 1/2 inch foam off the seat and replace it with 1/2 inch softer foam.
Made a big difference and now with 21000 miles on the seat it is quite confortable.
as was said before, it's more of you adjusting to the seat then the saddle really breaking in.
Had a classic solo on my FXDL and loved it. could stay on it for hours with no issues. Current ride is a street glide and will be upgrading next month to a dual tour.
Just give it a little more time for "you" to adjust to the seat.
Reference to Corbin customer service being poor? It's not poor it just doesn't exist!!! IN MY OPINION YOU ARE BETTER OFF RIDING STOCK THEN DEALING WITH CORBIN.
I have had mine on my Ultra for 18 months (7500 miles) I just rode 2500 mles this past week going to Milwaukee and back, I am done with it. I keep waiting for it to improve and that has not happened. As soon as I can have my stock seat reworked it will be sold.
Dump it and move on. Sorry but Corbin doesn't give a hoot, check my other posts.... One day lost to a bad seat and bad service is a day you will never never never get back. Tell me, please... what part of the bike has more contact then your seat? I am very happy that some of the guys have found comfort and a good match... I'm not dissing them at all... In fact I am thrilled that it works for them. Mention Corbin anywhere and you get the same response... HARD
