I had a warped rotor, HD floating Vivid black, that really caused the front end to pulse under braking, very annoying. I decided to check for myself wich one was the culprit, i mcgyvered a clamp to hold a dial indicator to the front forks. left one indicated 3 thousands run out and left 10 thousands. So i was faced with a decision, knowing that the rotor is $150 plius taxes i told myself, what the hell lets give this a try. After marking the high and low spot on the rotor with a marker, i got my biggest adjustable wrench, with a rag to protect, i started pushing an pulling to try to starighten it out, while checkinhg with the indicator, to my amazement i got it to 3 thousands run out. The bike runs like new now, very smooth breaking up front. so for a half hour of work, i just saved myself a bit of money that can go on chrome.
I agree that once warped, pitch it. Cars too. If this gets you by until you have the bucks for the new one, well, ya gotta do what ya gotta do, but just count on it real soon and don't put too much confidence in it.
