Default STAGE ONE COMBOS

What is the best Stage one?

On which combo do you need to DYNO?

Is it true that with the HD down load -the components sycronize better and no DYNO twitching is needed?

SLIP ONS / BREATHER / HD DOWN LOAD

SLIP ONS / BREATHER / PCIII

SLIP ONS / BREATHER / PWR COMMANDER

TRUE DUALS / BREATHER / HD DOWN LOAD

TRUE DUALS / BREATHER / PCIII

TRUE DUALS / BREATHER / PWR COMMANDER

The PCIII and the Power Commander are the same thing.

The BEST setup will be the intake/exhaust changed with some type of programmer SERT or PCIII w/Dyno Tune.

The HD Download is made ONLY for intake and Slipons.

The HD Download is Garbage w/06's

This combo is serving me very well (SE air kit). Great performance, sound and style.

The HD download will get you through till you can get it Dyno-tuned, as long as you get it done soon. HD downloads are notoriously lean. You will get coughing and sputtering on accel, and popping on decell. The popping on decel is not as bad as the coughing on accell as it can die on you right as you pull out into traffic.

You have described in detail my current symptoms – I do have the pops and it died twice on me at Daytona- guess I’ll check out the Dyno-tune.

I agree with Buttman! The HD download is a hit-or-miss, and a waste of money most of the time (if you ask me!) But, it will get you through real lean and hot until you have your bike dyno tuned. You do not want to go with this configuration too long, because of possible damage to your valves, and increase in your engine temperature.

You'll also find that your horsepower and torque will increase dramatically--with no pops, pings, or sputters. You will, however, sacrifice a bit more fuel and mileage to achieve this. I'm still getting around 40MPG with mine fully tuned. Not a bad trade off.

If you are going with the PCIII then don't waste your money on the HD Download. Just find the closest map to load and then drive bike over to Dyno Tech.
