Default Can I do it?

I'm thinking of putting the v&h dresser duals with v&h straight cut slip ons and an Arlen Ness Big Sucker on the bike for starters. I won't have the money right off for the SERT or PCIII. Can I install these items and then get the stock control unit remapped for them for now until I can afford the SERT or PCIII and dyno?

There is no HD flash for that setup, or any other setup. The HD stage 1 flash is a total waste of money, and only raises the rev-limiter.

If you are going to do the duals, mufflers, and air cleaner............you need to get the PCIIIusb to bring it all together.

$277 delivered from Eastern Performance...........you can't beat their price or service.

I totally agree. Skip the HD flash and go straight to the PowerCommander. In fact, with labor on the HD flash you'd be within about $100 of the PowerCommander from Eastern Performance.

Also, if money is tight, you can always forgo the true duals for now and just get the slip ons, air kit, and PC. Then add the duals when you have the extra $300.

Lastly...this is an easy job (particularly if you don't add the dual head pipes). Do it yourself and save hundreds in labor!

Has a better deal on the PC-III, a 2 year warranty instead of One, and the price is lower, and they will pre-load a program for your particular set up, give them a call.

very good post john, i agree 100%. go with the pcIII and just the slip ons if money is tight, but if you can stretch the cash get the true duals. but go for performance first, and thats the pcIII. I know you want the sound but you will get great sound with the slip ons, but believe me it will get better with the duals.. good luck buddie

I must be in the minority. I did the Stage 1 and Rinehart TD's for my bike and just the stage 1 flash from dealer and bike runs very strong w/ NO decel popping and my MPG is 43. I used to have a PCIII on my old bike but haven't gotten one yet for this bike but so far, I really don't need it. I am running 8 degree injectors as well.

I have to add another reply to this debate on PCIII/SERT. In my profession, I fly airplanes and the 2 aircraft I fly were built right next to each other in the factory with the exact same parts. Everything is the exact same construction wise on both aircraft, however, the starting procedures, flying (trim tab settings) and even the GPH (gallons per hour) are all different. I have talked to numerous ppl from the dealership to the ppl in my SCRC club and HOG Chapter club about exhaust, PCIII and SERT opinions. Guess what? Same goes for them as does the aircraft. Everyone is different. A lot of ppl in the clubs use the PCIII to help fix their performance issues, however, some have said they have never needed it. I have found myself to be in the minority of this subject and I have saved $100 from the difference from a $277 PCIII from E.P. and still may need to spend more on a custom map.
