My 08 does not hesitate.
Like already mentioned is the heat management turned on? If it is on turn it off and verify if hesitation is still present.
If still there take it to the dealer.
Iready please let us know if you resolve this issue. I am ready to buy a new ultra and the new technology is scary. Also a pic of your bike in the sun would be appreciated.
I have checked the rear cylinder shut down and it comes on red wich means it is deactivated. I called the dealership and they said there is a download for this problem although he has not had any as of yet come in. That really sucks as I do not like being the 1st to find out what it does. I did try the resetting to zero procedure and it was no help. I still can't find it in my manual but the dealer told me the procedure as it was described in a earlier post. It sounds like it will require a download to correct the problem. I can't get in until the 12th since the dealer I am using is not the same dealer I bought from. My dealer is 100 miles away. I only bought there as my local dealer could not get the bike I wanted. Anyway I will have to wait till the 12th to find out. They told me no problem riding it in the meantime. I hope they are right about that. Sheet! lol!
I would warm your bike up by riding it slow for the first few miles rather than letting it sit at idle. It is an air colled engine. It also probable needs to be broke in so that everything works together.
my bike was in the local dealers shop 4 times in the first month of ownership for one warranty problem (fuel gauge OOC)
ask your local dealer, maybe ask to speak to the Service Manager, He knows their work load and whether want to make the money off warranty work, or have mechanics setting idle.
it's under warranty,
ride it until it blows up,then they have something concrete to troubleshoot is my theory.
otherwise they will easter egg all over (remember the four visits for the fuel gauge that only has 2 parts?)
Isn't every problem with the new models "normal" according to the MOCO? That just frys me. I think that's the main reason I just keep working on my old 2000, and doing things that I know are going to make it better. Works for me so far. But I'm starting to covet that 09 ULTRA.
I rode a 09 ultra at demo days and it acted just like my 08 does. My 08 runs great and don't hesitate at all. me thinks you got a problem and need to get it in the shop and don't take the BS- its normal cr*p, tell them to let you ride another and compare it to. Just cause they aren't trained to diagnoise it does not mean its not a problem. If they say no problem have it documented on a service order and ride it till it breaks.
As I mentioned in a previous post, I have an appointment on the 12th. They already said they have a download specifically for this problem. I don't expect any problems from the dealer. Hopefully they just fix it and I can ride off. If iy becomes too big of an issue, it has 200 miles and a week old. HD will have it back if they can't fix it immediately. It is new enough to at another bike if needed. I do not anticipate any problems with the dealer as they were more than happy to get it in and help. We will see on the 12th. I have two other dealers in the area, I may call them tomorrow to see if I can get it in sooner.
