I'm looking into getting a rider backrest to go with my stock 2008 Street Glide seat. Do these help make a long ride more comfortable? Which version would you recommend - the regular one or the on-the-fly adjustable one?
I had the Adjustable Rider Backrest for my '07 UC and loved the ability to change the backrest over the course of the day (I put 18,300 miles on the bike in 13 mos).
Having the adjustable rider backrest makes riding for long distances a breeze. A buddy that I ride with bought one (finally) and is mad at himself for not doing it sooner.
i have the fixed back rest, but i would recommend the adjustable...i have to slightly heat mine and bend it to make it right...but now i never do a long trip without it...saves your lower back
They make my ride more comfortable. I jhave the adjustable on the fly model and do make some adjustments during a long ride. It's also helpful adjusting the backrest if you change from a jacket to a T shirt.
