Try the Wild 1 Chubbys site. Contact the Customer Service, tell them your height etc. and where/how you want to sit. Many here have found the right bars there. Do a search before you buy anything...Good Luck.
I had a similar problem with my 08 SG. was getting neck pain and found myself hunched forward most of the time riding. I ended up ordering the wild ones 575's that did the trick no more neck pain, not leaning forward anymore and the bike handles alot better now able to handle tight corners much easier. I did have to get a longer clutch cable not sure if the ultra's come with a longer one should be the same but it was just to tight and on the test ride it snapped. got a +4 clutch cable and everything works great.
Let me tell you, the HD pullback bars are the best. I had the same back problems and these bars solved them. Not sure how the heck they "bind you up" or whatever, they are perfect. I sit straight up now and am very comfortable. I added new padded grips at the same time and cruise control. I could ride forever now. All you need is a new clutch cable, all the other cables are plenty long no matter WHAT HD says.
The Master Chief is correct, I had the Wild 1 Chubby 575's installed on my '06 FLHTCI due to a torn rotator cuff. What a difference they make!
No more leaning forward (I'm 5"10" with a 34 inch sleeve), and the bike actually seems to handle better. I tried them today with my H-D rider's backrest- no problem.
I had the chubbys bagger bar on my street glide and I really liked them but wanted something a little bit taller, so I went with the cyclesmiths 13" Apes and they are great. The chubbys bars said that stock cables would work, but the cables were very tight, I ended up having to put all new cables on with them.
Has anybody tried the softail classic bars? I see they are in the 'wish' book. Talked to the local dealer and they said nothing else is needed to install these. For 80 bucks will that do what you guys are talking about? Thought of trying it but would like input. Thanks.
