Always in gear, pull in clutch to start, in cooler weather when i will idle longer i will shift to neutral but usually after i start it.

Oh yaa I forgot to mention that if you leave your kicker in gear, you're sure to kick it right off the sidestand when you kick her over....Maybe that's where I developed the neutral habit!

When I was six or seven, Paw taught me to park the tractor by putting it in first, shut off the engine and then release the clutch and then slowly release the brake. I've been parking any vehicle with a manual transmission that way since.
