Squeaking on both front and rear brakes on my RG. I'm in the middle of putting the blue disc brake quiet on the back of the pads.
I saw somewhere on here that I should sand the pad down. Anyone have an idea how far to go, they have some pretty deep groves from the rotors?
Should I use some emery cloth to clean up the rotors?
if you have the pads off still ,bevel the edges of the pad lead and trail edge at something like a 45* angle.
You are right. Mine squeaked when it was new. I beveled the edges and they stopped. I put new brakes on last week and beveled them and no noise. I think the grooves in the pads are to get the dust from between the pad and rotor
Well I did all three and no rear brake squeal.
I've got the front brakes off now giving them the same, bevel, buff the pad, and add the brake quiet to the back of the pad.
Thanks guys for the heads up.
