Question Questions on adding APES

i am getting ready to add cyclesmiths 13" bars on my streetglide. for those out there that have already done this, who had to extend the wires and who didn't. trying to gauge the audience before i buy the extension kit before hand. i figured while i was at it, i would go ahead and install the cruise at the same time. if there are any other tidbits of knowledge you feel compelled to pass on, i would appreciate it. thanks

I can't answer your question about 13", but maybe as a comparison my "how-to" will be of some use. I just did my 16" install a couple weeks ago.

Here are the bars i just installed on my 08 SG, check them out. Paul Yaffe's monkey bagger bars. Couldn't be happier with the look and how comfortable they are.

Got them on mine and didn't have to extend the wires. I did have to take the plugs off of their mounts on the fairing braces and put them below the radio though. Actually have just enough wire there from the factory for the 13". And yes, go ahead and do the cruise now. I had mine installed and had to pull it all off again to put the cruise on my 06.

Were you able to use your stock wires and cables?

I wasn't able to. I don't see how anybody could put apes on without extending the cables and wires.
