I have seen a device advertised on eBay that I'm curious about. It amounts to a sort of baffle that installs in your crossover so that it equalizes the exhaust flow to something ressembling 50/50 to each side rather than the roughly 80/20 distribution you get with the stock set up. Has anybody seen or know about these? Here's the URL for the thing.
I just did it yesterday. 2 freeze plugs from NAPA were less than 2 bucks. I still need to get a band clamp to strengthen where I made the hacksaw cut, but I'm getting the same exhaust out of both sides now.
I bought the 'fullsac' set-up from a member on this site. I think it cost about $79 (used). I did not re-map my system, since I figure I am using the stock pipes.
I have not noticed any problems.
I might go with the 're-cored' pipes from fullsac also.
I just rec'vd my monster ovals today and may try this fullsac system since no remapping is needed whenever i can.
Almost forgot i have xied's on my bike, will i have to remove them if i went with the fullsac?
As BUD said you can do it yourself as I have done or you can contact this guys. http://www.superflowmufflers.com/ Of course doing it yourslf requires a welder and some good metal cutting tools to re-locae the o2 ensor if you have a 07 and 08.
