Got a question about the stage 1 upgrade, my FFSE UC will be here in a couple of weeks and my questions are:
1.Do I get a stage 1 upgrade right off of the bat or do I wait till my 1000 mile and get it?
2.What should I have to pay for a Stage 1?
3. What would you guys recommend as far as slip-ons and air filter?(I would prefer to stay with the stock filter housing for now)
4. What "thehueg" has recommended "leave the damn thing alone and ride" This will be the most cost effective!
I am new to the Harley world and am trying to learn as much as I can from you guys and not cost myself an arm and a leg. i hate to pay 20K for a bike and then spend money foolishly. I appreciate any and all recommendations or thoughts! Thanks!
The biggest expense is gonna be the fuel management. Get yourself a $60 service manual and a set of Rush 1.75 slip ons for $320 and A&N Big Sucker for $120.
first of all were do you get a ffse for 20k? then wild pig mufflers 159$ se a/c 105$ and approx 1 hr to program stage 1 90$ stage 1 program 140$ ENJOY!!
Screaming Eagle AC has been great for me on 2 bikes. Uses the stock AC cover. Stage 1 was put on when the pipes and AC were put on or you will run to lean. Stage 1 really woke this bike up. Stock pipes and AC were a dog and it sounded like a hondasaki.
If you dont go with a Super Tuner or PC111 at least go with a stage 1 download.
First DO NOT throw your $$$$ away on a Dealer Download. The dealer is required by law to adjust with-in EPA guidelines and that would still put you bike running LEAN and Lean = Heat.
Ride your putt for the first 1K attend a Bike Night or a Rally and listen to other bikes when you hear the sound that's right for you... Go talk to the rider\s and see what they're running - Too many times people buy exhaust\Slip-ons that end up NOT being what's right for them.
Do-it right the first time and you'll save $$$ in the long run! Always buy the Service Manual. Do it yourself it's more rewarding!
I agree dont waste your money. I just got a download and nothing but popping on decel. Went back today. They said they had an updated download and installed it. They are a bunch of freaking liars and thiefs. Still have massive popping and they tell me they cant hear anything wrong.
