there should be a slot on each side of the pods. do you have the version i spoke of? obviously the grills are to be pointed forward. some speakers dont fit in the grills and the plastic will need to be trimmed. either way should be fine as long as the butyl rubber trim on the speaker doesnt contact anything as this is how the bass is produced. you know you have the proper rings as the bottom is much thicker than the top

Thanks for that!

Would you happen to know if I need to hook up the illumination wire from the head unit to anything? Maybe to the 12V switched?

No you do not need to hook this up. That is for cars so when the headlights come on the radio will dimm

Well, I finished the install. As for the sound, it's really clean which is what I wanted, but I expected it to be a little louder. I'm not used to having to turn the volume about 3/4 up for it to loud enough for me. Once up to 3/4, there is no need to turn it up any further. It does sound better than factory though and I have my iPod hooked up which is what I was most concerned about. The iPod is located in the left side guard bag which has a very nice little pouch for the iPod. Anyways, on to the pics!!!!!!!

I really like that radio! I'm already looking at prices. Does the radio have an option for a wired remote. If it does I can use the adapter for biketronics to use the handle bar controls. Were you able to get you controls to work with the stereo? Very nice job btw! Did you add sat radio to it?

I don't know honestly. I do know there is a PAC module that is plugged into the back of the radio, but it also has to be wired into the control harness.

I haven't installed the PAC piece as of yet although I do plan on either doing it or getting it done. I'd be interested in seeing this adapter from Biketronics. Link????

No. I had it in my truck and never really turned the channel. I would get stuck on a certain channel and leave it. I believe SAT radio can be installed on this radio.

r8rs4lf might PM Gtsdesigns as I believe he's running a PAC on a Alpine headunit.
Nice clean install!
