I am trying to find a way to eliminate the turn signal bar on my 08RK. I know that I can just take it off but then I have two ugly holes in my fender. I was looking to eliminate the bar in order to do a custom light setup in the rear. Any ideas or setups that have been done are welcome ideas.
I am looking to remove the light bar and cover up the holes somehow. I already know what i want to cahnge to but just cant figure out how to eliminate those ugly mounting holes from the factory bar once it is removed. I will try to get some pics this evening.
Zimbob you are correct. I am trying to intergrate it to the bags and just cant figure out how to cover the factory cosmetic retardations that i dont like.
Blue the cycle visions eliminator is close to what I want but I dont want it with the lights due to my pickeyness with having my heart set on what I want to do.
well, unless someone has come up with something clever... Im thinking youll have to take this into a body shop and them filled, which means painting too... I dont see any other way around it in my mind, that would look good/finished.
Wow! That's one hell of a setup! Have you had any problems from cops or people not seeing the lights? It looks great! I like your front setup with the speakers in the fairing lowers (and behind the windshield); looks like you can be heard bumpin down the road a mile away!
Never had any problems about the lights. I used led's inside of the arlen ness mini bullets, which bolted to the threaded fender struts, for an easy install. I also had the rear tag illuminated with led's along with some gem lights where I removed the rear rail. As for the radio, it would out perform most anything else. Now all I have to do is make my new RG as nice as this one. Anyone have a credit card I can borrow?
I was at the 105th and saw a street glide that had a chrome plate mount the came up the side of the tail light and covered the holes where his bar would have been and then he flushed signals into the filler strip. The license plate went below the tail light and was one whole unit. Never seen anything like it before and never thought to ask him where he got it.
