Gravity wins almost all the time at least it didn't fall on you ,there's a great technique for lifting it back up yourself do a search It has helped me in the past
Same thing happened to me. i was backing out of my garage and noticed something behind my bike, i reached down to move it and the bike started to go over. I caught my new SG with my neck as my head hit the wall and held it up. Ended up with some pinched nerves and a upper back ache for 2 weeks. But she never touched the ground.
Welcome to the club... The female in this video is a bit of a bruiser, but my 120lb girlfriend has picked up my electraglide using the same technique. It's worth practicing for when you need it. Just wrap your crash bars w/ pipe insulation and set it down as gently as you can.
it happens to all of us, allot better than the 50' slide on the side i did 2 weeks ago, pins in left hand and $7100 worth of damage to the SG. All because someone came acrosss center and the older couple in front of me locked it up and it was either hit them or slide it.
Easy to do and if you haven't done it yet I bet you will. I had just healed from a back problem when I did it in a parking lot. I jumped off and without thinking I tried to muscle it back up; well that was the worst thing I could have done because I then felt the back give out and the pain shoot down my leg. Took me another couple of weeks to heal from that one.
I have not laid my SG down..Yet..but I did lay a Goldwing over a few years ago. Slow U- turn and I touched the front brake and I was down before I knew what happened.
It will definitly ruin your day.
If you haven't laid her down, it's just a matter of time until you do. Damn, that hung over my head for a long time, then it happened in my driveway. For me, it was a big relief to have finally done this. It was embarassing as hell, but, I was able to pick the Ultra up and there was no damage. It did seem like slow motion as others say. I was awful proud that I could pick it up by myself. I have Ride Like A Pro to thank for that. I'm sure it will happen again and I'll be embarassed again, but, I'll pick it up and ride off - again. Then I'll put my glasses on and check every square inch of my machine for a scratch.
