If you ordered an '09 Touring Model, how long did it take to come in?

I'm over a month now and cannot get no information from my dealer on a delivery date.

It's getting frustrating to say the least. I personally think that because I'm not financing through them or getting my insurance through them, I'm being treated like the red headed step-son.

 

They should be able to check for you. Go up the ladder and keep asking. Some stealers are just no help at all.

 

My dealer looked in his incoming orders to see what is coming for the next 3 months. He said that he can swap almost any bike for another with a months notice to Harley. He swapped a SG that he had arriving in October to get an Ultra for me. September is closed and he has to take what they send him.

 

Same here had them swap a red one for a black UC with ABS, taking about a month. My dealer updates me every few days when I visit, we sit down at their computer and pull up the bike .

 

Don't feel bad. I ordered a 2009 RKC with ABS about 2 weeks back, and he said the bike will be in by November. I'm guessing it's the ABS that's slowing it down, but He said the MOCO is behind on orders already.

 

Ordered 09 UC on 08/05/2008, was notified las week it will ship on 09/24/08. Order was placed to factory while I was still at the dealership, watched the sales mgr do it. If it holds true it will be 50 days from order placed to ship date. Although they did say it could come early. Ordered a new UC in 07/03, bike came in 11 months later, I had long since found another somewhere else and purchased it instead. This was back in the super hot market time which had long since cooled and it was the anniversery yr. I remember back then it was not that easy to find a new touring bike on the sales floor as they came in the back door and went out the front.

 

I talk to 3 dealers today. No one has an Ultra on the floor. One dealer told me that their shipment is 3 weeks late. He also said that the MoCo wants supply to be tight this model year and that there will be no 09s on the floor when the 2010s come out.

 

What I've been seeing at the Dealers in So.Cal they have a few on hand but ordering depending on color options I've heard 2 months + for delivery. If your dealer ordered it for you he should be able to get a projection date from HD.

 

Just talked to my dealer about my 09. they said it takes 6 weeks to order in a special bike. He also showed me a email from motoco that said touring bikes are now running a week behind schedule. The good news is it look like mine was not affected and should ship out this week end (I hope)!

 

My buddy in Wisconsin just ordered a 09 Ultra last week..the dealer told him sometime in April before he'll see it. So, somebody knows something that others don't.
