Well. I went ahead and ordered a 8" shield from fastaire. I hope it is of some quality? Normally I stay away from cheaper stuff, "you know, you get what you pay for!" Well several people in here say they are good shields so since I was not exactly sure on the height I need I figure, if it does not work there is not to much invested. If it does work I can always buy better if I feel quality is poor. Well I shall see if its buyer beware or not with this one!
I bought 3 fastaire windshields yesterday. I bought a 6" 8" dark gray and 10" clear.
I tried them all out yesterday I like the 10" best. But after one day the heat of my hangar it is not perfectly clear it has a mild milky look to it. The grays look ok because the color seems to hide things. I just traded 07 Deluxe with Harley Fullsize and it looked perfect looking through it. It was of some value to test drive different heights for 100.00 for three. But now I want the 12" Harley for about 120.00. So save your money on the clear from FastAire.
Just to warn you, they are a FLAT piece of plastic when you get them. Not formed into a curve. Some people are kinda taken back with that. But once you get it mounted on there, its fine. In fact, once its been on the bike for a while, if you take it off, it retains the curve.
You also need to use some care cleaning it, as they do not have an anti-scratch coating, so use plenty of water when cleaning. But I have never had a problem with scratching mine. Just don't go at it with a barley damp paper towel or something like that. He has care and installation instructions on his website. Worth the read, even though both items would seem to be a no brainer. (not always the case)
For the money, they cant be beat.

I just rode 225mi today with my new 8" FastAire light grey shield. These are a very good product for not much cash. I wasn't sure which height to get so I could see over it and the 8" is the perfect size for a little guy like myself .
i ordered the 8 inch a friend at work let me use his 8 inch winshield and im 6ft3 and it worked great for me. i ordered my own yesterday.
Was it the fastaire? My only question is since you have to bend it to install it is it to thin and flex to much at fast speeds. I also do not know are the Harley ones the same thinkness and have to be bent to shape?
I've run my 8" FastAire for over 7000 miles. No problems. And don't let the fact that it is flat scare you. it installes with no problems at all. Probably a whole 5 minute job to remove the stock shield and install the FastAire.
It's on my bike in the sig. pic.
