Default Sears red jack leaking

Any body have this problem? Seems to be leaking at the release lever. Is it an easy fix or is it trash now? I know the jack is fairly inexpensive, but I hate to throw it away if it can be fixed reasonably.

I was looking at their yellow jack. Any feedback on that one? Good thing this thread came up!

I've heard that there are problems with the red jack. The yellow one gets good reviews.

I have a red one from Pepboys which is probably similar top the Sears jack and it's been working well.

As always, you get what you pay for, Teh Red jack is a piece of junk in my opinion, and the yellow isn't much better. I hate buying japanese or chinese junk, so I opted to spend a little more and get a J&S Jack. This thing is absolutly awesome. I have lifted my ultra's, and wifes deluxe with never a problem. Totally rebuilt her bike last winter (painted it) and never used straps while it was on the jack for over a month.

Its made in the USA and is a very well made piece of equipment. I can roll my bike all over the garage, and never sterap it down. You won't even try that with the cheaper jacks.

My yellow jack took a dump this past Saturday, I had just put the bike up to wash it when it starting leaking oil and coming down... and to top things off they only cover a replacement for 1 year, mine is 16 months old and has only been used a dozen times at most. I loved the yellow jack because it would fit under my chopper without any wiggling around and hold my Road King securely but it just didn't last long enough for me to recommend it.

Mine did the same, store and 800# kept pointing fingers at each other. Finally, a registered letter to sears legal department got them to send me a new hydraulic unit.
