Talk with firecap501 on here he sells amps and upgrade speakers. His amp fits on top of the stock radio. The brand is arc audio.

PM Firecap501. He sells the Arc Audio 125.2 mini and speakers. Fits perfect on top of the radio and add some serious power to the system. He can hook you up with all of the gear needed to do the job. His customer service is the best I have experienced. Do a search and check out my post " Arc 125.2 mini install". Will answer some of your install questions.

power and neg for the amp direct to battery. wires from speakers to the amp wires from amp to speakers, if no crossovers involved. small red wire to power down amp to acc swithch. fairly straightforward. +++1111 on talking to firecap. arc setups are the bomb and he is straight up a great guy. you wont be dissapointed.

I am in the middle of installing the ARC amp and componet speakers with crossovers. Its fairly easy to do, especially on a 08 bike because the tank does not have the cross over hose so its easy to remove. On 08 there is a long black plastic conduit that runs down the frame from the under the tank to the battery. The top un-clips so you can access the bike "spinal cord". Made my own wiring loom for the 8 ga power and grnd and looks factory. The ARC 5000 componet speakers have tweeters that are well designed that you can flush mount or surface mount. I decided to use the small low profile rings they come with and surface mount the tweeters. Once mounted, the tweeters are designed to swivel inside their mount so you can aim them well. I am mounting the crossovers under the radio with double sided trim tape and zip ties. Its a cool system and FireCap501 is the guy to talk too. He knows his stuff and is very friendly and happy to help by answering all your questions during install. He will "hook a brother up" !

Yeah, the great thing about Firecap is not only did I get a great deal, A+ tech service, killer equipment. I also gained a friend, he is a great guy. You can't get that at the big box stores.

Just finished installing this ARC amp along with other aftermarket audio. There should be three wires to the amp.

1. Red= 12V constant from the battery
2. Black= Ground (I came from the battery as well)
3. Blue= Remote turn on from head unit. (This turns amp on after radio is on)

On the Arc amp, there are no actual wires, instead there are slots with allen head screws where you place the wire in and screw them down.

There are also RCA cables that need to be hooked up to the head unit from the amp. My Alpine has front, rear, and subwoofer RCA's, but on a factory head unit, I believe you have to go a different route. I know there is a plug with four wires (I believe) that comes with the amp and I believe you have to use that because the factory head unit has no RCA's. I could be wrong since I have never seen the back of a factory head unit in person, but from what I have seen online, there is no RCA jacks on the HK radio.

That's it! I've never had a Harley, much less ever worked on one, but I got it done. It wasn't that hard. The hardest part for me was having to work in such small areas behind the fairing. Just take your time like I did. There was no rush for me.

As for mounting, I used some industrial velcro I had laying around. Placed it on the bottom of the amp and stuck it to the top of the radio. After that, I took a very large zip tie and strapped it down even further. I know with the velcro it won't be going anywhere, but I zip tied it anyways.

Good luck!
