I have a 2007 roadking custom I replaced pipes with V&h long shots, but I noticed that every month or so the rubber piece on the exhaust hanger underneath the right bag backs it self off, so i removed both pipes and adjusted them , now its better but it seems to be doing it on the left side now, any solutions, does anyone have the same problem? any input would be great. Thanks Jason
Something is moving and making the rubber move. Check all the brackets and related bolts to ensure that they are tight, When you tighten an exhaust system start in the front and work to the rear. The system shouldn't have any excess pressure on any mounting point as this will also cause this problem. Hope this helps.

I agree to check and tighten everything. You might end up having to replace the clamp at the header pipe if it can't be tightened any more, since if that clamp is as tight as it should be it shouldn't allow your muffler to move backwards.
I wrote a thread on this in the past about those dame rubber things, I know on mine and on this friend of mine the left side ( the little rubber mount) wiggles a little and everything is tight!!! a lot of people posted that they have the same problem on there bikes. Is it V & H only, I don't know but I put a wedged a little rubber wash in between the hanger and the rubber mount a it work fine now...Hope you can figure something out...but like Windup08 said start with new clamp and go from there!!
Had a similar problem.
Try tightening the clamps at the muffler/header when cold. Go for a ride to get the exhaust hot, then stop and retighten. When it cools completely tighten again.
Screw what the book says for proper tq. Get it at tight as you can.
Repeat if necessary.
Oh, the V&H clamps are a POS unless they recently changed.
I reused my stock clamps.
