Thanks....Keep the thoughts comin'. Initially I had one of the guys over that the Photoshop area chop them in for me which at that I point I was sold. Even putting them on I was still thinking good move, but then my wife mentioned that she didn't thing they flowed well with the lines of the bag itself and the more I walked around, I kind of started to feel the same way which brought me to this post. I also considered going painted to match the copper color but felt that it might be too much of an area that is not broken up with the black like all of the other body parts. Of course, I could have left well enough alone but we all know how difficult that can be.
Personally, I don't think they look bad, they're just not something I think I'd do if the bike were mine. There are other cosmetic mods that I would choose over changing out the factory latches but if I were buying a used bike that had them on, I don't think I'd bother removng them. There must have been something about them that caught your eye.
A theme must be created in order for an effect to flow. I have the flame saddlebag latches, flamed pegs, shifters, brake, grips, floorboards and a few other accents. It all blends with the Crimson Red color. I don't want to overdue it so now I am slowing down and just add what would really add to it and not abstract my theme. My 2 cents
Boom Daddy, got the grips from Coolsac. I was kind of holding out to see if HD was going to come out with a leather grip like they had in previous years but after the new items were released earlier this summer and they didn't, I found these. They are leather with a little bit of coush to them which make em' feel a little "thick" at first. Smaller hands may find them a little too beefy. When placing an order, you need to call and tell them it's an 08. They supply the correct throttle sleeve to slide into the grip.
