I just switched to 16 inch apes on my Road King. The stock bars were killing my back and my right would go numb. The apes are way more comfortable! Here are few pics of mine.

53 years old here. 5'10" and 180lbs. Love my 16"ers. They're a lot more comfortable than you would think. FAR better than stock.

I have a set of 12" on order for my RK, should be to my home the first part of the week. I think they will be the perfect combination of looks and comfort.

I tried baby apes of 8.5 inches, the bars did little for my ageing shoulders so I swapped back to RKII bars, feel like I have my hands at my lap but no more screaming burning bursitis after a few hundred miles. I have considered going to 12's but when my shoulders are extended for long they lock out.

53, old mechanic, beat to a pulp inside, won't give up the ride.

A view of RKII Wild 1 WO513 bars, I have since replaced throttle cables and brake lines to the front.
