The strips that you put in dryers, like bounce, work. Wet them and the bugs will wipe off fairly easy. I haven't seen many lovebugs in SW Florida, so far this Sept. Usually they are out in mass in May and September.

My Bike looked like that 2 weeks ago after Riding also, they are a pain in the Azz. I started cleaning the Bike when I got back and the next day, it was not pretty. I thought they had something to use to keep them off or make it easier to get off. Do any of you know of anything?
I saw a vendor on the net that was selling clear vinyl sheets that adhered to the front of the fairing via static cling. the guy swore they were easily removable/reusable and were great as protection against the lovebug. Seems like they were 25.00 for a set that included one for the fairing and one each for the front of your saddlebags. wished I would have bought them because now Ican't find the site and lovebug season is right around the corner.

I wound up with a love bug smeared on the inside of my face shield. I ride an Ultra. Still had a couple copulating in their dying moments when I got off the bike today. Hate those things!
A week ago finished a 1224 mile trip. I couldn't see through the windshield. So I know what your experiencing. As soon as I got in the garage and unloaded the bike I put wet towels over the fairing, windshield and fender, about 30 mins soaked the towels down again and after about 30 more mins removed the bugs, they came right off.
take a heavy cotton rag full of hot soapy water, hold it on one area for about 30 seconds and they'll come off, the HD bug remover or bug slide work pretty well too. but if your bike is full of 'em, try my suggestion.
