Default Battery

My battery died due to having my alarm system being on for about a month. Once it was dead I was able to get the bike going with charging the battery but should I get a new one since it was completely dead or will the charge take? Don't want to take any chances future problems. Thanks for the help

Should be fine. Purchase a battery tender. It will extend your battery life.

if you ride the scoot weekly you will never need a tender. remember bikes are like women, they have to be ridden to be happy!!

Battery tender for those times when you are parking more then a week, vacation, weather and the such.

I've just gotten into the habit of plugging in the battery tender when I pull in the garage. My battery just finished (August 08) its fourth complete year, and I'm going into the fifth. I think I'll probably get a new one next spring (just good insurance) but that preventative maintenance thing I read about years ago, well it works!

Mine was completely drained this spring when I accidentally left the ignition on overnight. Battery Tender wouldn't charge it, it was too far gone. I picked up a motorcycle battery charger at NAPA and it took a full 24 hours to fully charge, but it's been fine ever since. I was told that if it took a long time to get back to full charge it was probably ok, but if it charged up quickly it was toast.

The alarm is suppose to go into sleep mode over X time. I think it is 30 days. I would be surprised if that was the actual cause.
