Ok so my dad put led's on his 08 ultra classic last night he said they worked great well this morning on his way out of the neighborhood his bike went into limp home mode. now my question is, what could it be he only hooked the wires to the negative and positive posts on the battery the rest is a stand alone system?
Other than a Battery Tender, I avoid hooking anything up directly to the battery posts. Check into getting a fuse block terminal, several out then. I get mine from Waytec..but there are several. Get one that has a positive and negative post, hook these to the battery and run any extra electrical goodies to the terminal with proper fuse. I have my Gerbings, Zumo, LED's etc run to this type terminal, protected by fuses. There is one out there with a relay installed on the fuse block, nice.
before i say this im gonna go ahaed and say thanks casper the terminals arent loose but we re wired it andit worked.
now for anyone else who stumple's upon this why is it that i can get more response's from a v-rod forum than i can from the forum dedicated to mostly airhead bikes?

Welcome to the forum,,, WTF is an "Airhead" bike. Just askin.
You may have gotten more responses from a given forum because many people use the "New Posts" button when they log on and they may have come upon your post in the V-Rod forum first. It usually takes more than five post to figure these things out.
