Old cigarette butts. They're free just look around on the ground!

Got a link for those ear warmers? Thanks!

I've used most of the types of earplugs people are recommending so far in this thread, and found they did not meet the OP's requirments...they block wind noise, but they block *all* noise. I found this was unacceptable riding in a group, I would put them in, and then not be able to hear instructions etc before riding off. Then I found Alpine Motosafe earplugs. They are designed to block just wind noise (they come with two different strength filters you can put in), and I find they do just that...they block wind noise, but you can talk clearly and hear all other ambient noises. I bought them in a shop in Australia, but I found a review from NZ here and a US site selling them here.

When I get so deaf that I can't hear my pipes, I'll just get louder pipes. Screw ear plugs!

This has nothing to do at all with exhaust noise...............it's the wind noise that is killing my ears.

I'm starting to think it's the windshield I'm running this season putting too much air into my face. Last year I had a 9" FastAire, this year I have the 8" Clearview with recurve.....and I seem to have a lot more wind in my face then last year.

Might look into getting a 10" FastAire or the 9.5" Clearview with recurve for a bit more protection, and also get a good set of ear plugs for added wind noise reduction.

Steve

Etymotics

$12 a pair, carry a pair on each bike. You can block out the wind noise and listen to the radio, too.

+1 When I get to the point of needing ear plugs, I'll just go in my truck.
