On a ride from Key West to Miami a couple of years ago we hit a big headwind of around 30 to 40 mph. My buddy stuck paper towel pieces in his ears cause the wind was buggin him so much. Two weeks after we got home, he was feeling weird. Kind of out of balance all the time. He went to the ENT doc to find out what was wrong. The doc looked in his ear and pulled out a piece of paper he forgot was still in there! Ha. I use whatever I can get off my friends. No paper though.

I ordered a set of the Windblockers from the Earplug Superstore, should be here Friday. I also ordered a 10" FastAire windshield to see if that helps out too.

I've had ear problems for years, but this season it's been real bad..........actually painful and the ringing is much louder.

Custom plugs by an ENT Dr. are the way to go...had mine made last year, and they are still as good as new.

I ended up getting the Windblockers from the Earplug superstore, and replacing the Clearview 8" recurve windshield with a FastAire 10" windshield.

The Windblockers work great, they block out the wind noise but still allow you to hear everything going on around you. I can still hear the radio fine, and the exhaust sounds better then ever........very deep.
The 10" FastAire works great.......much less wind in my face when compared to the 8" recurve clearview.

I'm still going to make an appointment with either a EMT doctor or an Audiologist to have my hearing checked out. My Tinitus is very bad lately and the ringing is worse then ever lately.

I like 'em
+1

Used to use the barrel shaped disposable but these are a lot more comfortable for long days. If I am riding a lot in the country (less noisy than the city or high speed freeways), I many times ride without ear plugs.

pink and blue foamies. i work at a shipyard and there are boxes of them every 15 feet. i must have 100 pairs around the house. i pick a pair up for a job and stick them in my pocket when im done. at the end of the day when I clean out my pockets before laundry i take them out and throw them in a box on the workbench. i also use them for lawn-mowing and for when the neighbors stay up partying at night.
